RED, WHITE AND BLACK

Bloodred the Sun said farewell,

then floated scarves of mauve and puce

to welcome the new moon and Jupiter

in their return engagement,

later to be joined on stage

by Orion and Sirius

and a cast of minor stars,

confirming once again the lesson

of those early movies

that black and white

is ever an apt medium 

for works of art.
