FIRE ALARM
Morning conflagration
in the east,
ring the fire alarm,
not to put it out
but for all to see:
sky’s skirt’s aflame
in ribbons of rose,
announcing the approach
of One
who brings
light and life,
color and beauty
to a world
that’s otherwise drab.
