BON APPETIT


               
   BON APPETIT



Hey, hey, hey,
three meals a day. 
Begin with breakfast,
aptly named,
bacon and eggs, perhaps. 

And then at noon, do lunch—
a sandwich or a bowl of soup. 

And in the evening,
a cocktail
and a full course meal
with salad and dessert;
this is your dinner,
unless you’ve already
eaten it earlier,
as on holidays.
In which case
you settle for supper:  
leftovers or pizza
with a glass of wine,
and all is fine. 

Whenever, whatever,
bon appetite!

And remember that
the children have to be fed; 
so don’t have babies
unless you can afford
to feed them—
it’s the decent thing to do.
