NO MOON BUT ME

  NO MOON BUT ME

Venus, we use the Roman name,
not the Greek Aphrodite,
morning star, evening star,
our nearest neighbor,
next in brightness
to the Sun and the Moon.

She has no moon
but me,
not seen,
not known
even to astronomers.

Life here
is one
of peace,
ecstasy,
and truth,
inherent in the heart,

unlike on Earth
where truth depends upon
which side you’re on—
so many sides,
so many truths,
so many wars,
both big and small.
.
Why not join us?
Sacrifice your convictions;
and make a wish upon a star.
